PEG-MGF
Also known as PEGylated MGF, Mechano Growth Factor, IGF-1Ec
PEG-MGF is a longer-lasting version of a growth factor released after muscle damage, used (unapproved) in bodybuilding to try to boost muscle repair and growth. Human evidence is very limited.
A PEGylated splice variant of IGF-1 (mechano growth factor) used by researchers/athletes to extend the very short half-life of native MGF.
Mechanism of action
MGF is an IGF-1 splice variant that activates muscle satellite cells; PEGylation slows clearance to prolong exposure.
Research peptide — not approved and no rigorous human PK exists. Native MGF lasts minutes; the PEGylated half-life here is an estimate only.
