Synthetic analog of PTH-related protein (PTHrP 1-34) for postmenopausal osteoporosis at high fracture risk. Once-daily subcutaneous injection.

Mechanism of action

Selective agonism of the PTH1 receptor's RG conformation drives bone formation with comparatively less resorption than PTH.

Approved drug (Tymlos). Terminal half-life ~1–1.7 h. Lifetime use of bone-anabolic agents is limited — follow prescribing guidance.
