Pramlintide (Symlin) reconstitution calculator

Also known as Symlin

Reconstitute Pramlintide (Symlin) by adding bacteriostatic water to the vial, then draw your dose on a U-100 insulin syringe. The calculator is pre-filled with commonly-referenced vial sizes (5, 10 mg) and water volumes (1, 2 mL) — every field is yours to override. Amylin analog dosed before meals in micrograms — mind the mg/mcg distinction. The approved Symlin form is a pre-filled pen.

New to this? How to use the calculator
  1. 1Enter what's on your vial. Type the peptide amount (mg) printed on the vial and the mL of bacteriostatic water you mixed in. Not sure how much water to add? Switch to the Solve: water tab and it tells you.
  2. 2Enter your dose — mind the unit. Type your target dose and pick mg or mcg with the toggle. This matters: 1 mg = 1000 mcg. GLP-1s (semaglutide, tirzepatide) are usually mg; most peptides (BPC-157, ipamorelin) are mcg.
  3. 3Read “Draw to … units”. The big number is how far to pull the plunger on a U-100 insulin syringe. Match it to the fill line on the syringe picture. The concentration and doses per vial are shown so a wrong answer looks wrong.
Three ways to use it
  • Solve: units — you know the dose; find how far to draw.
  • Solve: water — you want a round mark like 10 units; find how much water to add.
  • Solve: dose — you already drew some units; find the dose that was.

Only 1.2 units — that's hard to measure accurately on a U-100 syringe. Add less BAC water for a larger, easier-to-read volume (try "Solve: water").
A U-100 syringe is marked in whole units. The nearest mark is 1 units, which delivers 50 mcg (your target is 60 mcg) — that's 17% off. Adding more water spreads the dose over more units so it's easier to measure.
